CENTROPACK™
COMPLETE SYSTEMS - GRID TIE PV & BATTERY BACK UP

CENTROSOLAR has combined our successful CentroPack grid tie PV system packages using SMA ‘Sunny Boy’ inCENTROSOLAR has combined our successful CentroPack grid tie PV system packages using SMA ‘Sunny Boy’ inverters, along with SMA ‘Sunny Island’ inverters to create ‘CentroPack Grid Tie PV with Battery Back Up’  (CPB) systems. These systems are utility interactive also providing AC power when grid power is not available.

Each CPB system has been professionally engineered for optimum performance utilizing field proven technology for ultimate reliability in the most extreme conditions. Years of PV system design experience have resulted in the industry’s most complete-code compliant PV system package, designed in accordance to NEC and building code standards. CentroPack CPB systems are configured for on-grid residential 240V split phase operation with system sizes ranging from 2.4kW to 18.4kW, featuring our D series 220W polycrystalline PV modules. All balance of systems components have been pre-selected and designed to work in harmony, one part number delivers the entire package eliminating field problems of compatibility and hard to source items.

CPB systems are configured with one Sunny Boy and one Sunny Island inverter and 16kWh battery reserve (CPB100 series) or two Sunny Boy’s and two Sunny Island inverters with 32kWh battery reserve (CPB300-series). Additional battery banks can be expanded for maximum of 48kWh (usable AC) back up power.

The Sunny Island is a bi-directional battery based inverter/charger and can manage AC power sources which are coupled on the AC input (grid or generator)/output (PV array) side. This AC coupling ability supports a wide variety of system configurations. Easy to install and configure, special knowledge not required, Sunny Island can be quickly programmed in ten steps with the easy to understand configuration guide and built-in menu navigation. The Sunny Island inverter features sophisticated battery management and supports automatic generator control for additional or extended emergency back-up power needs.

These CPB systems are designed to be installed with a ‘dedicated loads’ sub-panel (supplied). This means user critical loads are removed from the house main SES and re-connected to a dedicated load panel. During normal daytime operation, the high voltage PV solar array (Sunny Boy AC coupled with Sunny Island) generates 240VAC power to dedicated loads panel in addition to utility power, utility power supply also keeps the batteries charged. Solar energy not consumed by household will be fed back into grid effectively turning your meter backwards. During a grid failure, in daytime, the solar array keeps batteries fully charged while combined energy from Sunny Boy /Sunny Island is available to dedicated loads panel. Grid failure at nighttime-back-up power reserve is limited to the battery bank storage capacity (or back-up generator option for larger loads such as water heaters or air conditioning).

  • One Part Number Delivers a Complete, Compatible System
  • Engineered & Pre-Packaged for Compatibility and Superior Performance
  • Quick Shipment – No Back Orders = No More Waiting
  • Eliminates Second Sourcing of Long Lead and Special Components
  • Includes Permit Ready Design Package & Required NEC Equipment Labels
  • Many Upgrades Included as Standard Equipment
  • PV Mounting Structures Are Modular Allowing Flexibility in Layout
