New Hacienda tenant Centrosolar America, which opened an office at 3875 Hopyard Road in October 2009, is off to a great start.
In early January the company, a subsidiary of the German solar manufacturer CENTROSOLAR Group AG, won a $4.7 million federal tax credit to support a new manufacturing plant under the $2.3 billion Recovery Act Advanced Energy Manufacturing Tax Credits. This federal stimulus funding has been appropriated to support clean technology and green manufacturing jobs. more >>

Centrosolar Sonnenstromfabrik GmbH, a fully owned subsidiary of Centrosolar Group AG, has started up a new production line for solar modules. The commissioning of the additional production line means the company has increased its production capacity from previously around 110 megawatts (MW) to 155 MW. more >>

CENTROSOLAR America’s training program – CentroSchool – was launched in Pleasanton California on April 8th at the Sheraton Four Winds Hotel. Over 40 solar installing professionals attended the event.
“The goal of CentroSchool is to guide new installers into the solar business and to help existing ones build their businesses,” said CENTROSOLAR America’s CEO, Deep Chakraborty. “We have grown sales at 40% every month in 2010, as we signed up dozens of new customers all over the US. CentroSchool is a core element of our US expansion strategy. February 14, 2010 — Scottsdale based German photovoltaic manufacturer and distributor, CENTROSOLAR America (www.centrosolaramerica.com) contributed 7676 W of photovoltaic modules to assist in Haiti’s disaster recovery after the Jan.12th earthquake destroyed the country’s energy infrastructure. Kerry Kalarney, owner of Sundance Solar Designs, LLC (www.sundancesolardesigns.com) designed and installed these solar electric systems with battery backup in four medical clinics throughout Haiti. more >>

The Obama administration’s focus on growing green jobs and increasing renewable energy capacity has been the major catalyst for economic stimulation in renewable energy. Industry analysts predict that the U.S. will overtake Germany and become the world’s largest PV market by 2011.
